ND Early Learning Corps (PreK & Child Care)

Early Learning Corps tutors are trained to support the development of preschool children’s early language and literacy skills using research-based intervention techniques primarily targeting key early language and literacy skill areas, including:

  1. oral language,

  2. vocabulary and meaning,

  3. concepts about books and print,

  4. phonological awareness and

  5. alphabetic principle.

When children are present, tutors dedicate their time to provide embedded and explicit instruction to support the core curriculum throughout the daily routine and provide targeted small group and one-on-one support to children needing more intense supplemental instruction.

ND Reading Corps (K-3)

K-3 Reading Corps provides evidence-based literacy interventions and data-based assessments to children from age three to grade three. Our goal is to help every child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade. Tutors provide targeted reading skill practice, commonly called interventions, in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics and fluency.

ND Math Corps (K-3 & 4-8)

Math Corps is an evidence-based math tutoring program delivered by AmeriCorps Members that provides 90 minutes of weekly tutoring to K-3rd or 4th-8th grade students in small groups to improve foundational math skills required for algebra readiness.
