Regional Bus Driver Training
Bus Driver Training
All regular, substitute, and activity bus drivers are required by the Department of Public Instruction to attend the following training programs:
Annual 3-hour training workshop sponsored by the local school district or county superintendent’s office.
Defensive Driver Course (DDC) 4-hour workshop every five years. New drivers must attend within one year of employment (including 9-person vehicles).
Other meetings/training called by the transportation director.
SEEC is working with the North Dakota Safety Council to provide bus driver training this year. Trainings will be held in Edgeley, North Sargent, Valley City, and Wahpeton on the following dates:
Edgeley - August 14, 2024 @ 9:00 AM-11:00AM
Valley City - August 14, 2024 @ 2:30 PM-5:30PM (New Date & Time)
Wahpeton (Defensive Driving Course) - August 15, 2024 @ 8:00 AM-12:00PM (DDC)
North Sargent (Gwinner) - September 18, 2024 5:30 PM- 8:30PM
Districts will share the cost of the training based on the number of participants attending, and the district will be billed directly following the training.
