High-Impact Paraeducator and Tutor Training

In collaboration with the Department of Public Instruction, SEEC and NESC are excited to introduce our latest professional learning opportunity--High-impact Tutor and Paraeducator Training. Through the grant, participation is completely FREE to all North Dakota paraeducators and tutors.

Paraeducators and tutors can engage in on-line course modules and complete 5 hours of learning [asynchronously (4 hours) and synchronously (1 hour…flexible check ins)]. Through registration of this course, districts gain access to all of Master Teachers’ online modules free for one year ($35 value) for each participant that registers. Additional course modules are made available for paraeducators to take independently. Currently there are over 170 course modules to learn from. Each module typically ranges from 45-60 minutes in length. Participants need an 80% to be considered proficient in the course material and receive a certificate of completion.

Supporting Paraeducators in the School System is a new professional learning opportunity where administrators, case managers, and school leadership teams will develop strategies and tools for building an environment of collaboration and empowerment for all staff.

Opportunities to learn & practice new skills/concepts will be available through the course via discussion boards, self-reflections, and more.

How to Access Courses

Creating Your Account

To create an account with ND Educational Hub, you must first find a course you wish to enroll in. Search through the catalog, select the course for enrollment, and click “Enroll Now.” This will take you to the account creation page. 

Enrolling in a Course

You can search for courses by name and narrow down results via categories. However, not all courses will be visible to everyone. Some regional PD will only be available to educators in that specific region and will fall under the category of “Regional Professional Development.” Some courses may be enrolled in via link only. For these, your instructor will need to provide you with the link via email or another method. After finding the course listing, simply click "Enroll now

Accessing Your Courses

To access your courses, select your name in the top right corner of My ND Educational Hub and select "Canvas" from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can just click here. If you have enrolled in the course and it does not appear within Canvas, reach out to your instructor. If you are able to access the course, but items within the course do not function or pieces are missing, reach out to your instructor.

School Subscriptions

Paraeducator Online Training is available as a school-wide program with this NO COST opportunity. Paraeducators and tutors will have access to 150+ self-paced modules covering general education and special education environments. Learning modules typically ranges from 45-60 minutes in length, can be accessed using any platform day or night, and can be personalized to fit each individual within your system. Administrators, simply complete this form to enroll your school district today ($35/person value).
