An essential component of ensuring all children can succeed in ND schools is the work of our occupational and physical therapy and speech language pathology programs! Yesterday we kicked off our annual ND School-Based Occupational and Physical Therapy Conference with sessions on building the foundation of relating related services, collaborative goal writing, service delivery, and updates from the Department of Public Instruction! We were also excited to offer this programming to our speech language pathology programs for the first time in our conference history!

Driving Math Success - online workshop series (1 continuing education credit available). Audience - K-12 Math Educators; Admin/Supts.; Curriculum Directors; First Year Teachers; Instructional Coaches; K-12 Principals; Title Teachers. Contact for more information: erin.lacina@nescnd.org. To measure student success in the program, North Dakota Reading Corps conducts benchmark assessments in the fall, winter, and spring. These are one-minute assessments from Formative Assessment for Teachers (FAST), from the University of Minnesota, and include Letter Naming Fluency, Letter Sound Fluence, Nonsense Word Fluency, and CBM-Reading (3 passages). Additionally, progress monitoring assessments are conducted weekly to gauge the effectiveness of each intervention and progress of the student

NDREA Sessions - all sessions are virtual and synchronous. Mathematics: Designing Effective Tier 2 Interventions - Option 1: September 9th  |  Option 2: November 12th  This session is dedicated to helping participants develop high-quality Tier 2 interventions that are responsive to student needs. Using evaluation tools, participants will learn to design interventions that are both targeted and effective. The session will include best practices for identifying students who need additional support, developing intervention plans, and monitoring student progress. Tutor spotlight Tia Lewis: Early Learning Corps Tutor. Favorite Part of Tutoring My favorite part is seeing how much the children learn after a full school year of Early Learning Corps. Looking at the growth at the end of the year, there is nothing more rewarding for us as teachers and also the children! I Wish Everyone Knew Early Learning Corps is such a rewarding program. Just think about all the needs your children could be getting by implementing this into their daily school days! It's so fun seeing their growth, but the best part of all is that they have FUN too!

Reading Corps tutors have options when it comes to time commitments!   450 Hours/School Year        15 Hours/Week 675 Hours/School Year        20 Hours/Week 900 Hours/School Year       28 Hours/Week  Individual schedules may vary per each tutor and school, but tutors work consistent schedules M-F during school hours.

MATH CORPS WORKS  In a randomized controlled trial, 4th - 8th grade students receiving Math Corps tutoring for 90 minutes each week were 2 - 3 months ahead of their expected trajectory!
