If education was in the Olympics, we'd give gold medals to all of our dedicated educators who took time out of their summer breaks to join us at the first ND Science of Reading Literacy Summit two weeks ago! You inspired us with your insightful questions and palpable excitement for the work you do. We know that you're going to pair the knowledge you gained with your passion for students in this upcoming school year and make it the best one yet!

Two back-to-back conferences? No problem! Our superstar team helped put on the Science of Reading Literacy Summit with CREA last week and hosted the North Dakota Out-of-School Time and Early Childhood Summit this week. See highlights from our summits over the next few weeks as we start to get excited for the upcoming school year!

Happy Service Saturday! Today we're focusing on Reading Corps! What is Reading Corps?
Reading Corps, an AmeriCorps program, engages people in service while providing a monthly living allowance and an education award that can be used for college tuition or student loans. Reading Corps tutors serve part-time throughout the school year at a designated host school, with the goal of helping every child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade. Interested? Contact Maria Bigelow at maria.bigelow@k12.nd.us!

Our statewide Coaching Specialist team traveled to Minneapolis last week for the Ampact Coaching Summit! Attendees discussed Reading and Math Corps program updates, research, and best practices. They also celebrated 20 years of Readings Corps! Here's to many more years of these great programs!

Applications for Reading and Math Corps tutors for the '24-'25 school year are still open! We are still looking for tutors in Fargo, West Fargo, Bismarck, Jamestown, Minot, Max, Sawyer, and Kindred! Take action and create a positive impact in your local community! Contact maria.bigelow@k12.nd.us for more information!
