Governor Burgum recently declared October 24th, 2024 Lights on Afterschool Day! Over the past four years, afterschool programs have impacted almost 20,000 students across the state. But for every ND student in afterschool programming, two more would participate if a program were available. To celebrate Lights on Afterschool Day next week, we encourage every out-of-school time program across ND to register and host an event, big or small, to showcase the power of afterschool and add to your advocacy efforts! Find ways to celebrate here: https://www.afterschoolalliance.org/loa.cfm

Graphic with this text10/1/2024 How Does Math Corps Work? • A trained Math Corps tutor meets 3-5 times per week with pairs of students in grades 4-8 who are just below gradelevel proficiency in math, based on their performance on the state accountability test. • Tutors deliver evidence-based interventions focused on improving conceptual understanding, computational proficiency, and word problem solving. • Tutors receive regular support from a staff member at their assigned school, called an Internal Coach. Once per month, the Internal Coach, Master Coach, and tutor meet to review each student’s data and determine if interventions need to be adjusted.
